* Pagan also Christian?

                   Photo by David Taylor/Alamy.Times On Line

The Catholic church is now warning parents that Halloween is pagan and is the "devil's work." If the Catholic Church is so concerned about the evils of anything with pagan roots, how about a discussion of the obvious pagan beginings on ALL so-called "Christian" holidays..including the biggies..Christmas and Easter? It's year 2009. We're supposily still not living in the dark ages.

Let's include in that Bibical and historical disscussion the question concerning whether or not Israel is really "God's chosen people," especially since most of the U.S.foreign policies are wrapped around that concept.

* My views

Because of my previous post, someone mentioned to me that I sound "anti-military." Nothing could be further than the truth. I dislike the fact that our government is not honest to the American people as to their REAL justifications and intentions when they send the military, our young men and women, our fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers, off to kill and be killed to "protect" American "interests."

It's obvious that manipulation was used to obtain the support from the majority of Americans for the ill advised, illegal , so-called "pre-emptive" war in Iraq. By now, with everything that has already been exposed about THAT war, ALL Americans should by NOW feel comfortable about questioning anything they hear from the government, the media and from so-called "authority" figures...for instance, religious leaders, who ALSO goose-stepped with the previous Administration's call for war. By now, ALL Americans should be questioning which "interests" our military are "protecting," and whether or not those "interests" are worth marching off to war for.

* U.S. bases on Black Sea

Black Sea pipeline ports     http://maps.grida.no/go/graphic/black_sea_pipelines_giwa
In Jan 2008, a pipeline agreement with Bulgaria and Russia insured Russia's hold on Europe's gas supply. This pipeline is called the South Stream pipeline and seemed to be in competition to the Nabucco pipeline, which the U.S. backs. The proposed Nabucco pipeline's construction will begin in 2010. Both the South Stream pipeline and the Nabucco pipeline would supply several EU countries with energy.

Bulgaria also is an energy hub for the proposed AMBO pipeline. This pipeline is to be built by a US registered company called the Albanian Macedonian Bulgarian Oil Corporation (AMBO). The feasibilty study of this pipeline was financed by the U.S. and like the Nabucco pipeline is backed by the U.S. government. It's port is in Burgas.

Burgas is also the port for the Burgas-Alexandroupoli pipeline which runs from Russia to Greece to Bulgaria. This pipeline's construction was to begin Oct 2009 and is sponsored by Russia. This pipeline is not in competition to the American backed Nabucco pipeline.. so it's no worries for the U.S. and it's friends.

But things have changed. Now Russia has eliminated Bulgaria from the South Stream pipeline. This pipeline will bypass Bulgaria. That now leaves the U.S. backed pipelines... the Nabucco and the AMBO pipelines and the ITGI  (Interconnector Turkey-Greece-Italy) pipelines... and the Russian backed pipeline, the Burgas-Alexandroupoli, with ports in Bugas, Bulgaria.

This also raises eye brows in the international community as to the REAL reason why the U.S. wants permanent military bases in Bulgaria...(AND bases in Romania). With U.S. military bases already on the Baltic, and now with these permanent U.S. military bases on the Black sea ports of Romania and Bugaria, this puts Russia "in a bind." The U.S. will be spending over $100,000,000 on permanent bases in Bulgaria and Romania.

Interestingly, as this article points out, suddenly the cadets at West Point are taking a clash course of the Russian language and it's culture.

With all the oil, gas around the Black Sea and Caspian Sea areas, it's obvious that the U.S. wants to protect it's "interests" in those areas and prevent that area from Russian dominance.

It's just a shame that many in the U.S. military are not aware that they are security guards working for the big money guys whose principal goals are to make more and more money. The "cover" for this security work, which is really to protect U.S. "interests," is spreading our definition of "democracy and freedom" by endless bloody wars built on lies, and to "end the world forever of terrorism."  But - It DOES sound patriotic, doesn't it?

Whoever has the money.. controls the WORLD.
As always..follow the money.

* "HOSTILE" to US "interests"?

                                      AFP Photo
President Obama has renewed sanctions on Sudan... and his reasoning is?...."These actions and policies are hostile to US interests and pose a continuing unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States."

HOSTILE to US "interests"?.. Sudan is an "unusual and extraordinary THREAT" to the US?

Exactly what are the US "interests" in Sudan? Perhaps Sudan's extraordinary oil and natural resources? WHICH US companies want more of a foot hold in that country?

Have Americans forgotten the ongoing struggle and deaths of the millions of people in Darfur... people in Darfur who have endured horrible human rights abuses against them by Sudanese military, janjaweed, militia groups fighting against rebel groups? AND the US government is more concerned with Sudan hurting US "interests"? Absolutely pitiful.

As aways.. Follow the money....

* Questioning Israel?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2OBd2qjmNc

In this recent video an Iranian analyist and an Israeli analyist discuss the UN sponsored Goldstone report concerning possible war crimes in Gaza. The report condemns both Israel and Hamas.Why is Israel so afraid of this report?

* Pre-empt a pre-empt?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0VylJhG4YM

In a recent interview for "Russia Today News" waraholic John Bolton, former UN ambassador, is trying to keep the "Bush Doctrine" of pre-emptive war in the spot light. Bolton says that Israel has every right to pre-emptively strike Iran. Iran is a signatory of the UN nuclear non-proliferation treaty and has allowed UN inspectors into it's country, and so far has shown that it hasn't broken any international laws concerning it's nuclear program...Unlike Israel, which even though it has a nuclear program, REFUSES to sign the UN nuclear non-proliferaiton treaty. On top of that, Israel has violated many UN sanctions regarding it's nuclear weapons program.

The fact that Israel has been talking publically about a pre-emptive strike against Iran, gives IRAN the right (under the Bush Doctrine), to wage a pre-emptive strike AGAINST Israel..BEFORE Israel wages a pre-emptive strike against Iran. As we saw in Bush's "pre-emptive" strike against Iraq, under the Bush Doctrine, there's no need for proven, verifiable, updated evidence of ANYTHING to justifiy a "pre-emptive" war.

* Dumbing down of Americans

Seems the lastest poll shows CNN is ranked last among American cable news channels. Both #1 FOX, which preaches to the right wing, and #2 MSNBC which preaches to the left wing, ranked higher. CNN tries so hard to preach to the middle with it's fluff reporting...Reporting? Do any of the American main stream cable "news channels" REPORT news? They do sensationalism and commentary.

These rankings show that American TV watchers prefer "entertainment." It shows that the so-called "news coverage" in the US plays a big part in the dumbing down of Americans knowledge of national and world events. But let's get serious. There's no excuse now. There's the Internet with it's endless sources of overseas news.

Hopefully we won't have any more national polls similar to the polls done before and right after the Iraq war started.. that showed that the MAJORITY of Americans thought Saddam Hussein was the SAME person as Osama bin Laden!

* Say "NO" to more war!

                        Photo "No more War" from BaseTree.com

On today's Neil Boortz sydicated radio show, he mentioned that "insanity has taken over Americans over the health care debate." It's true. Too many so-called "patriotic" Americans, with little or NO debate, would rather spend their TAX money on more and more needless, endless, bloody wars.

With debates bordering on "insane," these same "patriotic" Americans oppose anything for the good of man kind.. like for education and health care.

* War Crimes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsrMzfhdmkU
This video is getting much international attention on the Internet right now. It should be mandatory viewing for all Americans to understand why their wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are being labelled  "war crimes" by the international community.

* Flip flop, flipping?

With regard to all the latest complaints on President Obama's indecision as to the next step in Afghanistan..There could be a reason to the delay...Let's review...

President Billy Carter started the "secret" support for Afghanistan's Mujahideen at least 6 months (on July 3, 1979) BEFORE the official CIA version.. which said the US started it's support in 1980, AFTER the Soviets invaded Afghanistan in Dec 1979. Ronald Reagan continued this support when he becomes President in 1981 and even calls the Taliban "Freedom fighters."

Financial support (MILLIONS and MILLIONS of US dollars) and financial support from the Saudis was given to Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, a fanatical fundamentalist and women hater who threw acid on women not wearing the Islamic veil. Hekmatyar was a commander AGAINST the Soviets and was one of the key leaders during the Afghanistan civil war that followed the Soviet withdrawal. From 1993-1994 he was the Prime Minister and despite his human rights abuses against the people in Afghanistan, he was a "friend" of the US. THEN he became an enemy. BUT the Taliban came to the rescue.

In 1996 the Taliban obtained power and became a "friend" of the US. (Side note: A "friend" of the US is someone who supports US "interests"). Oops.. then right before 9/11, the Taliban becomes an enemy when it doesn't support all of Enron and UNICAL's demands to build a pipeline from the Caspian Sea, through Afghanistan and on to Pakistan.

In the mean time, the ex-"friend," now enemy, Hekmatyar flees the country, lives in Iran for a while, but is NOW at the present time believed to be living in southeast Afghanistan where with his group, the HIG (Hezb-e-Isami), is claiming responsibility for attacks against Coalition forces.

But the US and sitting Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai want to be "friends" AGAIN with Hekmatyar. Karzai offers "positions for those who are opponents of the government." This olive branch is directed towards Hekmatyar.. in hopes of turning his NOW support for the Taliban towards support for Karzai and the US.

Hamid Karzai, even though propped up by the US as a "good-guy," and a so-called "champion for freedom and democracy", is as fraudulent as most of the other characters connected to the mess in Afghanistan. Look at one Karzai brother's suspected connections as a big time Heroin kingpin in poppy producing Kandahar province and another brother's illegal business dealings. As usual.. follow the money... Follow the money...

Seriously, what's the objective NOW in Afghanistan? What will define "victory" there? It's been 8 years since we started looking for Osama bin Laden to either capture him "dead or alive." What's the flip flop, flipping reason NOW?

How's the Trans-Afghan pipeline coming along? Americans.. are you keeping track of this pipeline's progress? Have any of you noticed WHERE in Afghanistan most of your causalities are located?.. Is there a connection between the pipeline location and the causalities? The world community is well aware that this war has NOTHING to do with protecting America's "freedom" or giving the Afghanistan people "freedom," as patriotic as that may sound to Americans. it's all about MONEY, MONEY, MONEY.. MONEY to be made in DRUGS, OIL and GAS.

* Manipulation continues

Seems "fair and balanced" FOX news is hitting hard against White House Communications Director Anita Dunn. "President Obama's presidential campaign focused on making the news media cover certain issues while rarely communicating anything to the press unless it was "controlled,".......Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn't absolutely control," said Dunn.

FOX says this Administration is controlling the media!! Horrors! How can that be? Like.. it's NEVER happened before? Like.. FOX never does it? The obvious MANIPULATION of the American main stream news is unfortunate, but since the American MSM is privately owned, it will always have it's very own agenda. After all, look how easy it was to MANIPULATE the majority of Americans to believe that Iraq played a part in 9/11 and to MANIPULATE the majority of Americans to support a "pre-emptive," illegal war built on lies.

The MANIPULATION continues and continues.. because Americans allow it and rarely QUESTION what they hear, especially when what they hear sounds "patriotic." But let's not NOW think this MANIPULATION is a  NEW thing!

* Israel's refusal to comply

                                                 UN Security Council
Because of the emotional ties to religion, many Americans have a difficult time questioning ANY action by Israel. Those who do question, are immediately called "Anti-Semitic," supposedly a frightening word that should make a person want to curl up with fear and expect the wrath of God to strike him dead. But the world community does not have this problem. They are anxiously waiting to see how President Obama reacts to the UN war crimes resolution over Israeli war crimes. Word is out that U.S. officials have already indicated that they will vote against it..(not a surprise here).  Israel has threaten to quit the peace talks if that resolution passes..(not a surprise here).

Israel has already thumbed it's nose at this Administration, the UN and the IAEA request for Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Israel refused (no surprise here). Israel thumbed it's nose at the President's request to quit building illegal settlements in the West Bank..(no surprise here).

All throughout the years, Israel has thumbed it's nose at MANY UN resolutions against it's actions. The UN Security Council has passed as many as 131 resolutions addressing the Arab-Israel conflict. Israel refuses to comply to ANY of them. But...look at what happened to Iraq's Saddam Hussein when he didn't comply with just ONE resolution.

The world community perceives the US has having contempt for the UN and it's resolutions. The world community now perceives the US as having less clout and should have less say concerning world's problems. The world community perceives the US has having a one-sided view point when it comes to the Israel/Palestine problem.

* U.S. media ignores story

While Americans are focused on a run away UFO balloon, the international news sources have been discussing the recent UN Human Rights Council vote in favor of the resolution that endorses Richard Goldstones's Report on Israel's war crimes. The world's eyes are now on the U.S. reactions when the Goldstone Report goes before the Hague. Will the U.S. use it's Security Council veto on this report? If so, all hell will break out. The U.S. media seems to be ignoring this story.

* The Muslims are coming!

Friends, President George W. Bush and King Abdullah (King of Saudi Arabia) spending a delightful day together holding hands

With Dave Gaubatz recent release of his book: "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld that's conspiring to Islamize America," an attempt is made to continue American's FEAR of Muslims. Dave Gaubatz claimed last year that a vote for "Hussein Obama is a vote for Sharia law."

Four Republican Representatives John Shadegg (Ariz.), Paul Broun (Ga.), Trent Franks (Ariz.) and Sue Myrick (N.C.) are alarmed because they found Muslims trying to lobby Congress through CAIR (Council on America - Islamic Relations). Horrors! If trying to influence Congress was a criminal act, then powerful AIPAC (Israeli lobby) would have been criticized and outlawed long ago.

Some Americans (fear/war mongers) STILL think to this day that the 9/11 attack had Islamic undertones and that the world must be rid of ALL Muslims. These same people thought the Iraqis wanted to fly in their blimps over the Atlantic to America to FORCE Christians to become Muslims. Never mind that Iraq was a secular country, not an Islamic country - like where our "friends" live.. in Saudi Arabia, where the majority of 9/11 terrorists were from.

* "Human rights" abuses?

U.S. Army photo from Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq showing a leash attached to a prisoner collapsed on the floor, known to guard.

In a recent trip and speech in Moscow, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton remarked "People must be free to take unpopular positions, disagree with conventional wisdom, know they are safe to peacefully challenge accepted practice and authority. That's why attacks on journalists and human rights defenders here in Russia is such a great concern because it is a threat to progress."

She criticizes Russia's "attacks on HUMAN RIGHTS defenders"? People around the world are shaking their heads with disbelief at her words. They remember well how Americans who questioned the Iraq and Afghanistan wars were demonized and called "unpatriotic" and how captured prisoners of war in America's wars were abused, even though those abuses were AGAINST international laws. These prisoners were held for YEARS with no representation. Perhaps the U.S. needs to clean up it's OWN interpretation of "human rights" before criticizing another country's problems?
