I guess it's final now? The American main stream media (CBS) tonight announced that President Obama will indeed be sending about 40,000 extra troops to Afghanistan... What the MSM didn't mention was that this move will continue to help prop up President Karzai's corrupt regime, help protect the construction of the Trans Afghan Pipeline, and ensure the Afghan heroin traffic safe passage throughout the world?
It sure isn't about capturing Osama bin Laden "dead or alive," nor ensuring that al-Qaeda returns with a moving van of computers to their Afghanistan caves. I guess the Taliban can keep their offices in Kabul and continue to play a part in Afghanistan politics? AND - what's the COST for this "surge"? Trillions and trillions of dollars of our tax money.. or will we continue to BORROW, with interest of course, from foreign countries to continue paying for this adventure?
ANYBODY who has been keeping up on the issues concerning Afghanistan, knows this decision is INSANE. Interestingly, this decision was announced the same day Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was in town to give marching orders.
Updated side Note: After CBS on it's 6:30EDT nightly news Nov 9 said that President Obama had indeed MADE a decision, the White House immediately issued a response that President Obama had NOT yet made a decision. This is another example of MSM jumping to conclusions without checking out it's sources..... Similiar to how President Bush jumped to conclusions concerning Saddam Hussein's WMD before leading this country into a "pre-emptive" war.
