We moved to the UK in Jan 2001. In Feb 2001, we were warned that there was a good possiblity of a terrorist attack directed to Americans. We were told to give the American Embassy our family contact information.
At the end of May 2001 I went to Healthrow Airport and found the security extremely tight that day. At the boarding gate I was ushered into a curtained off area to the side. In that area were people of obvious Middle Eastern ancestry. The women were wearing veils. The carry on bags were throughly checked by machine and by hand. All items were taken out. My lipstick tubes were opened. There were body checks. The security personnel were VERY nervous that day.
My United Airline flight was departing from Healthow and would arrive in D.C. This was 3 1/2 months BEFORE 9/11.
Today I FINALLY found a copy of the reports from Foreign Intelligence agencies from ALL OVER THE WORLD. There were many SPECIFIC warnings of an attack BEFORE 9/11.
