This was just a quick mention on tonight's TV news... ANOTHER incident this past Sunday of a "mistaken" airstrike that "accidentally" killed as many as 27 innocent Afghan civilians. The airstrike was targeting 3 mini buses "supposily" filled with "suspected" insurgents. General Stanley McChrystal personally apologized for the incident. This was the third such incident in Afghanistan since the American offensive in the Marjah district.
Americans.. please remind the world WHY you think you're in Afghanistan. It CAN'T be to capture what's his name...Osama bin Laden. It CAN'T be to capture al-Qaeda members... They're long gone. It CAN'T be to overpower the Taliban.... the corrupt puppet President Karzai wants to be "friends" with the Taliban and include them in his corrupt government. It CAN'T be some feel good, pat on the back reason like to spread "freedom and democracy".... If that's so important, then why not target Saudi Arabia.. where most of the 9/11 terrorists were from, where leaders commit human rights abuses on a daily basis?
Helmand Province has ALWAYS been strategically important for reasons NOT reported on the American nightly news...
By the way, how's the Trans-Afghan Pipeline building coming along?
