*Long time abuses

Noted Italian exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth, commented this week that the recent defamatory reporting on Pope Benedict XVI, especially by the New York Times, was “prompted by the devil.”

My thoughts: A few days ago the Vatican exorcist Father Amorth accused Satan of tempting Catholic priests to molest children. NOW he accuses Satan of controlling the media's reporting of this sex scandal. Talk about passing the buck! WHY did Father Amorth keep silent all these years? It's been public knowledge for YEARS that priests of the Catholic Church have abused children and that these quilty priests were moved from one parish to the other. The difference NOW is that the POPE has been accused of playing a part in the cover ups and that these abuses not only took place in the US, but in Europe as well.

"In 1922, the Vatican promulgated an instruction to do with what it called crimen solicitationis (the crime of solicitation within the confessional) and what it called the ‘‘worst crime’’ - the sexual abuse of children. The document was issued in Latin. No authoritative version was produced in English.

"The document was circulated only to bishops and under terms of strict secrecy.
A new version of the guidelines was produced in 1962, but this, according to the Murphy Commission, was unknown within the Dublin diocese until some time in the 1990s."
"The 1922 and 1962 Vatican instructions on dealing with allegations of clerical child sex abuse demanded absolute secrecy in the conduct of investigations. The secrecy was so pervasive that, to some, it seemed to demand that the complaint also be kept secret from the state authorities"

My note: Notice the dates of these instructions.. "1922 and "1962." The Vatican knew of CLERICAL sexual abuses of children THEN that needed to be covered up?

Year 2002 - Cardinal Law chose to keep in ministry priests who had sexually molested children and adolescents, priests who had traded drugs for sex, fathered children, and abused  women.
