* War toys profit $$$

                              "Smart bombs" Photo: Dept of Defense

"JUST before Christmas, US President Barack Obama signed into law one of his country's biggest aid pledges of the year. It was bound not for Africa or any of the many struggling countries on the World Bank's list.
It was a 10-year deal for $US2.77 billion ($A3.1 billion) to go to Israel in 2010 and a total of $US30 billion over the next decade, mainly to be spent on US military hardware.
Despite the serious financial crisis in the US economy, the US is proceeding with its increased aid package to Israel.
Israel is bound by the agreement to use 75 per cent of the aid to buy military devices made in the US — and in a recession, those military factories are critical to many towns."

My thoughts: What do we manufacture in this country now that anybody overseas would want to purchase? It's come down to only war WEAPONS and bombs? We GIVE countries OUR tax money so they can turn around and buy war toys from the big American war weapons manufacturers. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see why the waraholics are pushing for more and more bloody wars....$$$

COULD TERROR WAR BE RESPONSE BY GOP AND ISRAEL AGAINST THREATS TO THEIR GLOBAL PLANS?

* Future attack on Iran?

Three more months before end of March 2010. Three more months before Iran's Bushehr Nuclear Plant will be working at full capacity. Three more months to obtain American's unquestionable  support for an attack on Iran. Three more months to manipulate Americans to think a future attack on Iran seem as "protecting freedom" or some other flip flop flipping reason.

For the next three months you'll be seeing more and more "reports" by the MSM to demonize Iran. Today there is a report that claims five Britons were kidnapped from Iraq in May 2007 and that the "operation was led and masterminded by Iran's Revolutionary Guard."

At that time period David Petraeus was in charge of the multinational forces in Iraq. "He confided at the time of the abduction that he believed the men were being held in Iran." Asked about the involvement of Iran, he told the BBC: "I'm absolutely certain. I'm 90 per cent certain."
"When pushed further whether he had any solid foundation for the claim, Gen. Petraeus added" I'm pretty sure. I've seen hard intelligence on it."

My thoughts: This is all empty accusations... just like the many empty accusations we heard before the start of the Iraq war. One of the five abductees was actually recently released by his Iraqi captors. Timing.. timing... timing.. this story and it's slant was reported NOW three months before end of March 2010.. because the waraholics want another bloody war.

* REAL US interests in Yemen

   Saudi assault on Al Houthis worsens refugee situation. Image Credit: Nasser Arrabyee/Gulf News

A reader who responded to my Dec 25th post "Houthis targeted," sent me a web site which explained the REAL American "interests" in Yemen? Now with the "timely" Christmas day alleged explosive underwear airline terrorist attack and the "timely" American thinking for a retaliatory response with that attack,..the information in this web site link is interesting and puts things in perspective. Keep in mind.. the US supports the Saudi regime and the Yemen's CORRUPT government with $ and military training... AND despite the human rights abuses of these countries, the US nevertheless sells them an astounding quantity of war toys. Follow the money... follow the money....

"The archetypal Saudi fear - which is scrupulously left unspoken due to its extreme sensitivity - is that the Houthi-dominated region of northern Yemen also borders Saudi Arabia's restive eastern province, which is Shi'ite (and oil-rich) and seething with resentment over Wahhabi intolerance."

* Darth Cheney speaks

                   Darth Cheney photo from: Extroverted Wallflower

Can't keep waraholic Darth Cheney in his cave. Seems we've heard more from him since he left office than when he was in office. With the recent Christmas day alleged explosive underwear airplane terrorist attack, Darth Cheney has accused President Obama of "trying to pretend we are not at war with terrorists."

My thoughts: If Cheney was still in power, we would ALREADY be sending troops into Yemen to fight terrorism or for some other flip flop flipping reason, like to "protect freedom." Hasn't he heard? It's impossible to defeat terrorism militarily...by a  bloody war. If he loves war so much, then why didn't HE go fight in Vietnam, the war of his generation? When he was Vice President, why did he IGNORE all the warnings BEFORE 9/11 occurred? He could have helped prevent THAT terrorist attack. For that matter, why is this war criminal still walking around free?

* Staged terror attack?

Bombshell: Evidence clearly indicates staged attack on Detroit flight

* Mercenary drug cartel?

This question has been brought up before.. More investigation needed...

"News out of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India reports massive corruption at the highest levels of government, corruption that could only be financed with drug money. In Afghanistan, the president's brother is known to be one of the biggest drug runners in the world.
In Pakistan, President Zardani is found with 60 million in a Swiss Bank and his Interior Minister is suspected of ties to American groups involved in paramilitary operations, totally illegal that could involve nothing but drugs, there is no other possibility."

"Testimony in the US that our government has used "rendition" flights to transport massive amounts of narcotics to Western Europe and the United States has been taken in sworn deposition."

"American mercenaries in Pakistan are hundreds of miles away from areas believed to be hiding terrorists, involved in "operations" that can't have anything whatsoever to do with any CIA contract. These mercenaries aren't in Quetta, Waziristan or FATA supporting our troops, they are in Karachi and Islamabad playing with police and government officials and living the life of the fatted calf."

* Mumbai - CIA - Mossad?

                2008 Mumbai Attacks Photo credit at: Wikipedia
Remember the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India in Nov 26-28, 2008? At least 166 people were killed and 173 people were wounded in that attack. It turns out that the Indian authorities are clamining that David Headley, a Pakistan-born American, plotted thet attacks and was a double agent for both the US and al-Qaeda group Lashkar e Taiba.

"He is also believed to have been present in the terrorists' "control room" in Pakistan where their handlers directed the killing spree over an open telephone line." (1)

Read the rest of the article at:
(1) Mumbai suspect is US double agent, India claims

My thoughts: Many people, especially in the international community, have all along expressed concern that there was a connection between the Mumbai attack, the American CIA and the Israeli Mossad.

"...there is a possible Israeli angle that some are raising. Thus, the widely-read Mumbai-based tabloid Mid-Day, in an article about a building where numerous militants were holed up titled ‘Mumbai Attack: Was Nariman House the Terror Hub?’, states: “The role that Nariman House is coming to play in this entire attack drama is puzzling. Last night, residents ordered close to 100 kilograms of meat and other food, enough to feed an army or a bunch of people for twenty days. Shortly thereafter, the ten odd militants moved in, obviously, indicating that the food and meat was ordered, keeping their visit in mind, another cop added." (2)

OH.. and don't forget YEMEN:

"A Mossad/Israeli hand in the affair might seem far-fetched to some, but not so to others, who point to the role of Israeli agents in destabilizing a large number of countries as well as possibly operating within some radical Islamist movements, such as a group in Yemen styling itself ‘Islamic Jihad’, said to be responsible for the bombing of the American Embassy in Sanaa, and which is said to have close links with the Israeli intelligence. Some have raised the question if the Mossad or even the CIA might not be directly or otherwise instigating some disillusioned Muslim youth in India, Pakistan or elsewhere to take to terror by playing on Muslim grievances, operating through existing Islamist groups or spawning new ones for this purpose." * "Al-Qaeda" and Israelis?

"A terrorist cell busted in Yemen last month after a suicide attack on the US embassy there had links with an Israeli intelligence agency, the state-run Saba news agency reported.The report, quoting an unnamed source, said investigations and data retrieved from a computer seized from the cell, showed there was correspondence between the Islamic Jihad group’s deputy leader Bassam Abdullah Fadhel Al-Haidari and an Israeli intelligence agency. Saba quoted the source as saying that the correspondence between the two sides included a request from the Israeli side to implement terrorist attacks inside Yemen." "....the Yemeni authorities have arrested a group of these al Qaeda-backed militants with, surprise surprise, links to Israeli intelligence."

WASHINGTON, Dec 28 (IPS) - U.S. intelligence has concluded that the document published recently by the Times of London, which purportedly describes an Iranian plan to do experiments on what the newspaper described as a "neutron initiator" for an atomic weapon, is a fabrication, according to a former Central Intelligence Agency official.

Philip Giraldi, who was a CIA counterterrorism official from 1976 to 1992, told IPS that intelligence sources say that the United States had nothing to do with forging the document, and that Israel is the primary suspect. The sources do not rule out a British role in the fabrication, however.

The Times of London story published Dec. 14 did not identify the source of the document. But it quoted "an Asian intelligence source" - a term some news media have used for Israeli intelligence officials - as confirming that his government believes Iran was working on a neutron initiator as recently as 2007

The story of the purported Iranian document prompted a new round of expressions of U.S. and European support for tougher sanctions against Iran and reminders of Israel's threats to attack Iranian nuclear programme targets if diplomacy fails.

U.S. news media reporting has left the impression that U.S. intelligence analysts have not made up their mind about the document's authenticity, although it has been widely reported that they have now had a full year to assess the issue.

Giraldi's intelligence sources did not reveal all the reasons that led analysts to conclude that the purported Iran document had been fabricated by a foreign intelligence agency. But their suspicions of fraud were prompted in part by the source of the story, according to Giraldi.

"The Rupert Murdoch chain has been used extensively to publish false intelligence from the Israelis and occasionally from the British government," Giraldi said.

The Times is part of a Murdoch publishing empire that includes the Sunday Times, Fox News and the New York Post. All Murdoch-owned news media report on Iran with an aggressively pro-Israeli slant......."

My thoughts: This is "deja vu" all over again. Forged documents were used to try to justify the bloody illegal Iraq war. What we're seeing now are attempts to manipulate Americans to support wars in both Iran and Yemen.

* Faulty underwear?

The media's "reporting" of the recent alleged attempted airline terrorist attack has too many twists and turns. Obviously none of the "reporting" is reliable. Nothing is based on facts. Nevertheless, having no proven, verifiable facts has never prevented the media from reporting rumors.

According to the various media.....(1) Farouk Abdul Mudallad (or Mutallab), a Nigerian, is a Muslim whose mother's roots are in YEMEN.(2) He is or was at one time, or maybe never was an Engineering student in London. (3) He did or did not spend time in a controversal mosque in London (4) He ran around the same circles as a radical Muslim cleric (An Iman supposedly tied to Ft . Hood shooter), the US tried to kill by bombing Yemen on Thurs Dec 24. (5) Oops.. He didn't contact THAT cleric, but instead contacted a different Yemeni cleric on the Internet. (6) He may or may not have received training at al-Qaeda camps in YEMEN (7) He attempted to light some firecrackers on the plane. (8) No - it wasn't firecrackers. (9) He received instructions in YEMEN on how to use a "destructive device." (10) This "destructive device" was actually 80 grams of PETN and a syringe sewn into his underwear while he was in YEMEN. (11) This "destructive underwear" was supposedly created by a Saudi expert bomb maker al-Qaeda member in YEMEN. (12) Perhaps instead of a "destructive device" or suicide underwear, it was instead a faulty battery that exploded from his electronic device. (9) His wealthy banker father warned the US embassy in May that his son was becoming radical.

"Could it be possible that the government and media are jumping to an embarrassing conclusion, along with potential racial profiling here? I am an electrical engineer by profession for over 30 years, and the description of the explosion sounds just like a faulty battery on a personal electronic device (PED). If the plane was just starting it's descent, it could be he was stowing his device at the time of the explosion (turning it on/off, cabin pressure fluctuations, etc.), a more likely time for the battery to explode if it were faulty." (1)
(1) Terrorist Airliner Explosion: Maybe just a battery?

My thoughts: If indeed this alleged attempted terrorist attack turns out to be the result of a faulty battery, then don't expect to see this reported on the front page of US newspapers. This incident has already demonized YEMEN. American waraholics $$$ have been iching for another bloody war in YEMEN....How timely..The US supported the previous bombings in Yemen and played a part in the Dec 24th bombing, the day BEFORE this alleged "explosive suicide underwear" terrorist attempt.

If indeed the PETN chemicals were sewn into his underwear while he was in YEMEN, where in the world has this underwear been all this time.. between YEMEN and Amsterdam? Wearing it.. or was it in a metal box? He must have traveled with his explosive underwear from YEMEN to Nigeria. He boarded a KLM flight from Nigeria on Dec 24. He boarded a Delta (Northwest) flight from Amsterdam headed for Detroit on Dec 25.. all this time wearing an explosive, super duper suicide underwear?

This alleged terrorist attempt is a too good to be true. It's a "gift" to the US government trying to justify to the American people and to give them a reason to support a war in YEMEN.. You know.. all in the name of wiping terrorism from the face of the earth. Forget that you can easily get reciples and directions to make a bomb from all over the Internet. Forget that you can make terrorist plans from anywhere in the world... not only in YEMEN. On top of that, you don't need to go all the way to YEMEN to obtain a super duper suicide underwear bomb.

* Yemen hot bed

              Radical US cleric survived airstrike in Yemen: family

Back to the wild west mentality.The "Bush Doctrine" made it possible for any and all countries to bomb the heck out of another country whose government is "suspected" of being an enemy. As seen from the Iraq debacle, no proven evidence required.. You just need a couple of "maybes," "perhaps," "mights." It's also perfectly OK to bomb the heck out of a country with a "suspected terrorist" living among it's borders. Again, no proven evidence required.

With the US media focus on Afghanistan, it's easy for Americans not to notice what is going on in Yemen. On Thursday (Dec 24) an US cruise missle targeted suspected al-Qaeda training camps in Abyan and Sanaa, Yemen in an attempt to kill US born Muslim cleric, Ansar al-Awlaki. Supposedly on that day al-Awlaki was attending a meeting of al-Qaeda leaders. Al-Awlaki was to provide the religious justification for retaliation attacks against Yemeni and US targets in response to the Thursday Dec 17 Yemeni (with Saudi and US backing), attack that killed many innocent women and children.

Al-Awlaki is accused of advising three of the 9/11 hijackers. In 2002 al-Awlaki fled the US and went to London where he preached at the Masjid al-Tawhid mosque. Supposedly while there he encouraged Muslims to seek martyrdom. In 2004 al-Awlaki and his family left London to live in Shabwa province in Yemen. In Yemen al-Awlaki was giving lectures at Iman University. Recently he was accused of advising the US Army major who went on a shooting spree at Fort Hood, Texas.

Al-Awlaki's friends and family have claimed that al-Awlaki was not killed in the Dec 24th attack. They refuse to disclose if he was at the meeting or if there was indeed a meeting or if al-Awlaki has ties with al-Qaeda. More than 30 people were killed in the Dec 24th strike in Yemen.

According to the US, Yemen is the new launchpad for al Qaeda's attacks against the West. Now with the recent attempt by Abdul Farouk Abdul Mutallab to"blow up" a Northwest Airlines flight, Yemen is getting some attention.(Supposedly Mutallab obained his fire crackers... I mean explosive device and instructions for the device in Yemen). Abdul Mutallab supposedly told investigators he was a MEMBER of al-Qaeda and received training in Yemen.

* YEMEN connection?

Farouk Abdul Mudallad (or "Mutallab" - depending on the news source), a Nigerian student who is studying (or "did" study - depending on the news source) in London, is on the US government's "terrorist watch list," but not on the "no fly list." Farouk decides to fly from Amsterdam's Schiphol airport (or from Nigeria - depending on the news source). The Amsterdam airport has super security scans that sees through clothes. The scan can outline the body contours and makes it easy for airport security personel to see if anyone is carrying drugs, weapons or smuggling money. He is allowed on a Northwest Airline Airline flying from Amsterdam to Detroit. Waiting right before the plane is to land, he is accused of setting off fireworks.. but later on (depending on the news source), he is accused of attempting to set off an incendiary device to  attempt a terrorist attack.
"The suspect has claimed that he was acting of behalf of al-Qaeda, according to an unidentified police source, reports Associated Press news service." (1)

"A federal “situational awareness” bulletin said: “The subject is claiming to have extremist  affiliation and that the device was acquired in Yemen along with instructions as to when it should be used.” (2)

"The man had “some kind of incendiary device he tried to ignite” in a bag strapped to his body, U.S. officials told NBC News. Other officials told NBC station WDIV-TV of Detroit that the device was a mixture of powder and liquid, which failed to ignite when the passenger tried to detonate it during the plane’s descent into Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport." (3)

(1) Explosion on plane from Schiphol to US

(2) Nigerian man with "links to al-Qaeda" arrested over US airliner bomb plot

(3) Terrorist attack foiled aboard US jetliner - MSNBC

My note: How did he get through the x-ray security body scan in Amsterdam? How come the scan for the carry on bags didn't pick up on the  "fire-works" or "incendary" device? "Device was acquired in YEMEN?" Yemen sure seems to be getting it's share of attention lately. Will this incident be used to demonize Yemen, especially the northern area bordering Saudi Arabia? Or will this incident be used to demonize oil rich Nigeria? Stay tuned.

* "Christians" want more WAR

                                           Iraqi baby boy in horror

To the disappointment to many American Christians, Armegendon hasn't occured yet. Many of those Christians mistakingly thought their support for the illegal war in Iraq would jump start the war of Armegendon...that would in turn usher in the return of Christ and the end of the world. Forget that the Iraq war was based on lies....They figured the end would justify the means. Since THAT didn't work, it seems NOW those "Christian" leaders want to find another route to push their bloody agenda.

"On December 10th a group calling itself the Christian Leaders for a Nuclear-Free Iran sent a letter to both political parties’ leaders in Congress as well as to the chairman and ranking member of the House Foreign Relations committee. The letter, beginning "We write today as Christian leaders," preceded a December 15th vote in the House of Representatives in which 412 house members approved the Iran Refined Petroleum Sanctions Act of 2009, with only twelve votes opposed. The sanctions proposed by the House of Representatives and endorsed by the Christian leadership have correctly been seen by many as amounting to an act of war."

"The Christian Leaders’ letter was signed by many prominent evangelicals including Christians United For Israel founder John Hagee, Pat Robertson of the Christian Broadcasting Network, Chuck Colson, Gary Bauer of American Values, and Richard Land. Land, who appears to be the driving force behind the letter, is president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. There are also several Catholics among the thirty-seven signatories, which is surprising as the Vatican has repeatedly expressed its repugnance towards the ongoing conflict in the Middle East."

* Houthis targeted

                   Yemeni Houthis child displaced by war
As stated in my 2 posts both dated Sat. Dec 19, things are heating up in Yemen. This BBC article  states that "Yemen is the new frontier on the war on terror."
"......US intelligence agencies have determined that, along with Pakistan, Yemen is a key area on which to concentrate on al-Qaeda. More than 90 detainees still in America's Guantanamo Bay detention centre come from Yemen. That is nearly half the total. The US has invested some $70m (£40m) in military aid in Yemen in the past year, believed to include training, the use of drones and intelligence to pinpoint al-Qaeda camps and activity....."

BBC News - Yemen: New fronier in US war on terror

My notes:
1) Yemen is one of the poorest countries in the Arab world
2) The insurgents, accused of fighting against the Yemen government are "Houthi," named after their late- leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.
3) The Houthis are critical of the Yemeni government. They say that they (Houthis) are not affliated with al-Qaeda and should not be lumped together with them. They say the Yemeni government is siding with the US government's "war on terror."
4) The Houthis say their position is DEFENSIVE against the attacks by the Yemeni army against their people.
5) The Houthis have never carried out terrorist acts against Westerners.

6) The captital of Yemen is Sana'a. The Yemen government receives "contributions" from Saudi Arabia and from the US.
7) The government of Sana'a(Yemen) relies on trafficking of drugs, weapons, and gas to Saudi Arabia and to other countries on the Horn of Africa. All those who side with the government are making money from these activities. Those who make the money (including those in Yemen National Guard) have the incentive to fight against the Houthis and against those in the south who are uprising again for independence.
8) Most of the 9/11 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia, NOT from Afghanistan, Iraq or from Yemen.
9) "The armed conflict is increasingly being fuelled by the power struggle between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Since 2004, the Yemeni government has been accusing the Houthi rebels of being part of a wider Shia master plan that aims to spread the Iranian revolution. Yemeni authorities, however, have not been able to provide the international community with sufficient evidence and have often backtracked on some of their accusations." (1)

* Buy Canadian dollars

   Canadian dollars

Dec 23 Bloomburg ---"Canada’s Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said China, with the world’s largest currency reserves of $2.3 trillion, may be poised to buy Canadian dollars as it seeks to shield its reserves against the U.S. dollar’s decline."
“It does not surprise me that China and Russia would take greater positions in the Canadian dollar than they have previously,” Flaherty, 59, said during an interview in his office in Ottawa. “I would expect countries looking around the world to invest in market currencies that are reliable.”

"The U.S. dollar has declined against all but one of the 16 most-active currencies this year, prompting major reserve- holding countries such as Russia and China to express concern about their U.S.-denominated investments. Russia last month said it will add Canadian dollars to its reserves to lower its dependence on the U.S. currency."

My note: You know things are really getting bad for the US dollar when you hear this. Of course things have been going down hill for the US dollar for a while. Saddam Hussein switched his oil revenue money from the US dollar to the Euro in Nov 2000. When other countries announced they wanted to do the same, they became "enemies" and "axis of evil."Unfortuately the US thinks it can solve all it's problems militarily.. with more and more bloody wars. As soon as we invaded Iraq, the oil revenue money was switched BACK to the US dollar.

* US a bully?

 UNITED NATIONS Dec 22 (KUNA) -- "For the second time in a week, Iran on Tuesday complained and warned that it would retaliate against the "unlawful" acts by the United States Navy which pursued an Iranian commercial ship on the high seas last October and caused another Iranian fishing boat to sink in Iranian territorial waters last September......Iranian vessels are targeted by US, European and Israeli ships because they have allegedly carried weapons to Syria, and from there to Hezbollah in south Lebanon, in violation of UN sanctions."

My note: From the international community's viewpoint, it looks like the US is trying to bully Iran into starting a war. Iran may indeed be in violation of UN sanctions, but what about all the UN resolutions Israel has thumbed it's nose at?

* Bill likes pagan

        Thor says "Ho, Ho, Ho"!!!

Over the years, many Americans have become concerned with the growing securalism of the holidays, especially with  Christmas. They say the humanists, atheists and pagans are taking away the "true" meaning of Christmas. They say everything is becoming too "politically correct."

Bill O'Reilly recently asked "why (the humanists, atheists and pagans) spend money at Christmas time to spread dubious will among men? The reason, I believe, is that the atheists are jealous of the Yuletide season... There are no atheist Christmas carols, no pagan displays of largesse like Santa Claus."

My note:  Bill, Bill, Bill.....As a Christian, you should know better. Secularism took over "Christmas" a long time ago... BEFORE you were born. What is so "Christian" about Santa Claus"? What's so "Christian" about a "Christmas tree"? What your've been celebrating all along has ALWAYS been based on pagan beliefs and mythology.The Christmas season is beautiful, enjoyable and fun.....Neverrtheless, it's time to clean up the holiday and start telling the truth. Bill, this is year 2009... almost 2010. You're not living in the dark ages anymore.

China has been busy around the world making deals and buying up oil and gas from countries the US calls "enemies." China recently signed an oil deal with Venezuela and finished a pipeline from the Caspian Sea through Turkmenistan. Whereas the US attempts to gain oil and gas through spending trillions of dollars on bloodly wars to attempt to get what it wants, China on the other hand spends it's time and money on diplomacy and quiet deals to obtain it's energy needs.

* US attack in Yemen

"They targeted shepards not al-Qaeda"

* War in Yemen?

                   Friendly children of Yemen

Things are really heating up in Yemen. It's  quickly becoming a failed country. It's a world headquarters for drugs.. especially hashish from Afghanistan. Yemen blames IRAN, saying IRAN has eased the way for heroin and hashish to enter Yemeni regional waters.

Years ago the southern area of Yemen tried to secede from Yemen. Even though they lost that attempt, recently there's talk again of succession. Human Rights Watch have condemned Yemeni security forces for abuses in this part of the country. According to the Yemen government, south Yemen has terrorist camps.

Then we have the northern area of Yemen. Since last August, the 5 yr conflict between the Houthis and Sana'a (Yemen captital) has intensified. The Houthis accuse Sana'a of being too close to Saudi Arabia. (Saudis have bombed the area).  Sana'a accuse the Houthis of support from IRAN. The Houthis say the Yemen government is corrupt, that the son of President Ali Abdallah Saleh is a member of al-Qaeda and that members of the government Republican Gurard are members of al-Qaeda. In contrast, the Yemen government say the Houthis are the ones with al-Qaeda connections and that there are al-Qaeda training camps in their area. Because of this conflict, THOUSANDS of people caught up in the cross fire, have been killed or displaced.

So - we have the Yemen government, which is accused of being corrupt, in the capitol city of Sana'a, supported by: Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco and Jordan. These countries are in turn supported by US aid and US military training. It's no surprise then on Thursday, US airplanes attacked  2 suspected al-Qaeda bases in Yemen. According to the US government, one of the bases "was plotting an attack against US assets."(1)

US assets, assets, assets.. Turns out there are MANY "assets" in Yemen... Too  many to list here, but look at this web site: List of American businesses in Yemen

So - we have the US attacking Yemen to protect American "assets." To protect these "assets," it was reported that 63 Yemeni civilians were killed. Among this number killed were 28 innocent children. Almost 90 people were injured. (2)

* Real Conservatives

How You Ended The War from PuppetGov on Vimeo.

This is an excellent article about American "conservatives" written by Carl Merman of the Miami Examiner.

".....Conservatives should be outraged once the facts are clearly recognized. They should question everything else the government alleges and demand clear evidence. The whole “terrorist threat” should be ripped-open to discover propaganda, wary of possible false-flag attack to re-justify national fear. All the liars need to be exposed and removed from governing

More troops have died in these unlawful wars than Americans on 9/11. We’re wasting our troops’ lives, mental and physical health, honor, and destroying their families. Real conservatives have the intellectual integrity and guts to tell the truth now, end these crimes, and return our troops to safety.

Why do some “conservatives” support current US wars? What are the consequences? They either don’t know the laws of war or are rejecting the US Constitution in this area. They probably innocently believed party leadership. They’re afraid of a pumped-up threat by “terrorists.” They respect authority and haven’t recognized they were victims of massive lies. The consequences are US troops on the front-lines losing their lives, wasting trillions of our dollars, surrendering personal responsibility for blinded obedience and international shame, and severely handicapping future generations of Americans the longer our stupidity and/or cowardice to act continue."

* Ridiculous propaganda

The oil well is in Maysan province, east of Amara, near the Iranian border

Read again my post dated Sun, Nov 29, '09 titled: "Future Attack?" It concerns Iran's Bushehr Nuclear plant. It should be working at full capacity by the end of March 2010. That post mentioned that we will be seeing more and more reporting/propaganda to demonize Iran further than what it already is in the eyes of Americans. This happened to the run up of the Iraq war. The waroholics are iching for a war with Iran, so expect to see propaganda like this to try to justify a war in Iran.

Well - it happened today. CNN World has reported that "an armed Iranian group seized an Iraqi oil well on Thursday." This is ridiculous. Why would oil rich Iran want to steal Iraqi oil? Why would they purposely put themselves in a position to further inflame Israeli anger towards them? The Iranians are not stupid. For that matter, neither were the Iraqis. The Iraqis, hearing GW Bush's talk of war, were NOT looking forward to a war in their country. They were NOT looking forward to the bombing of their towns and the dealths of their people. Who in their right mind WANTS a bloody war?

Answer: Those who PROFIT from war.

* Atrocities in Congo (DRC)

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been described as the "richest patch of earth on the planet." It's also described as the most violent country in the world. Armed groups act like a mafia. Most of these armed groups come from neighboring countries, Uganda and Rwanda. They control the richest mining area of Congo (DRC)...close to the borders of their countries. The many mineral mines in east DRC are taxed by these militias. With the HUGE amount of money they make, they turn around and buy more weapons (which country, company is making money off these rebels$$$?). They intimidate, kill, commit human rights abuses on the population by using their favorite torture method of choice.. RAPE.
The smuggled minerals (gold, tin, tantalum, tungsten)  are sent to countries in Asia and then bought up by world companies who make such things as cell phones, lap tops, Blackberries, I-Pods, video game systems and digital cameras.
The DRC is rich with many other minerals.. diamonds, copper, cobalt, zinc, manganese, uranium, niobium. Tantalum, mentioned in previous paragraph is also known as coltan.

Just recently the news reported that "U.N. peacekeepers in Congo are violating the laws of war and should immediately stop backing Congolese troops who have deliberately killed hundreds of civilians in an operation to oust rebels in eastern Congo, Human Rights Watch said."

"Human Rights Watch said it had documented "vicious and widespread" attacks against civilians by soldiers and rebels between January and September. Soldiers being fed and supplied with ammunition by the United Nations have killed civilians, gang-raped girls and cut the heads off some young men, human rights and international aid groups said."

My note: This is interesting but very sad. We have the rebels from both Uganda and Rwanda butchering and raping those living in eastern, mineral rich, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). At the same time we have the UN and US backed Congolese troops doing the same thing. On top of that, the UN troops too have been accused of rape, of arming the militias and accused of smuggling gold and ivory from the DRC. Seems to be no "good guys" in this situation. It's all about greed and....
As always... follow the money $$$.

* Rumination of lives

".......Terrible wars have been fought over the purpose of human existence. No one ever wins these wars and everyone who may have triumphed or survived at any period of time are now as gone as their victims. At the moment there are people winning and losing wars around the world. I should say that there is the appearance of people winning and losing wars because in many cases there has been no victor, just continuations of conflict. What is interesting is that, in most cases, one side has far superior firepower yet they are unable to prevail. In some cases they are actually losing, despite their arguments to the contrary."

"Maybe it’s not about winning and losing as much as it is to profit financially from the conflicts. The people who start the wars don’t fight in them. War is a very profitable business and perhaps we should see it as just that; not an unfortunate condition that is due to border disputes or the spread of a preferable ideology, religion or ancient racial hatred but due to economics. War is like any other industry. It creates jobs and markets and a cornucopia of opportunities for collective and personal enrichment. As long as you can get enough people together to fight them you’ve got a cash cow.".............."

* Christians and Zionists

This is a very difficult subject for Americans...Questioning anything Israel does is a "no-no." Many American Christians fell into the trap of making a holy icon out of Israel and believing that whatever Israel does is "wanton murder-as orchestrated by God."

This article is wrtten by Grace Halsell, a former White House speech writer under President Lyndon Johnson. After leaving that position she traveled to the Middle East, studied the situation and became a staunch advocate for Palestine. For many years, American Christians were unaware of what it was they didn't know about Israel. But the tide is turning... Seems more and more Christians are learning the truth and the extremist Zionist are now starting to get nervous.

"Over five decades now, Zionists have killed Palestinians with impunity. And in the 1996 shelling of a U.N. base in Qana, Lebanon, the Israelis killed more than 100 civilians sheltered there. As an Israeli journalist, Arieh Shavit, explains of the massacre, "We believe with absolute certitude that right now, with the White House in our hands, the Senate in our hands and The New York Times in our hands, the lives of others do not count the same way as our own."

* The good, bad, ugly

                         Photo source: The pope of Pentecost

Mr Ceil Bothwell was recently elected Councilman in Ashville, NC. But there's a problem. Because of an archaic provision in the NC Constitution preventing anyone who is an atheist from holding office, Ceil Bothwell, an atheist, is getting some national attention right now. One of his detractors, H.R. Edgerton, a former Asheville NAACP president, is threatening to take the city to court for already swearing in Bothwell. Mr H.R. Edgerton, known for standing in the streets decked out in a Confederate soldiers uniform and holding a Confederate flag, states that: "My father was a Baptist minister. I'm a Christian. I have problems with people who don't believe in God." Hopefully Mr. Edgerton realizes that the US Constitution supersedes a state Constitution before he makes a fool of himself and takes this to court.

Nevertheless, this entire situation makes you question the wisdom of always electing people who call themselves "Christian." We heard "born again" President GW Bush say that God TOLD HIM to invade Iraq. We hear how "born again" elected officials commit adultery. We see how some officals cheat, steal, and spread lies that lead the country into bloody, illegal wars. We see famous, hypocritical Christian evangelists and people "of the cloth" get involved with drugs, sexual adventures including sex with children. Being an atheist does NOT always equal immorality....Just like being a Christian does NOT always equal holiness.

* WMD hoax

Bush and Blair explain what proof they have of WMD. Photo source: BangedUp.com

Don't expect the American MSM "go" with this story. Heaven forbid....It might "encourage" the American public  to put GW Bush on trial too. The British journalists and families of veterans have been pressing for Tony Blair's arrest and prosecution for warcrimes and with going along with GW Bush for an illegal war of aggression against Iraq. Tony Blair recently confessed he "would have invaded Iraq even WITHOUT evidence of WMD and would have found a way to justify the war to parliament and the public."

Bush and Blair pushed the WMD hoax on to the American and British public. The first flip flop reason why the Americans and the British supported the war was because THEY were AFRAID for THEMSELVES. Remember the horrifying image of the "mushroom cloud"? Close to 5,000 American and coalition soldiers went sent to kill and be killed for a WMD hoax, and GW Bush and Tony Blair KNEW all alone it was a hoax?

A good informative book published in the UK in 2002 was: "WAR, what team Bush doesn't want you to know on IRAQ", by Scott Ritter and William Rivers Pitt. Scott Ritter was a former UN weapons inspector. Look at the published date again... 2002, a year before the start of the invasion in Iraq. This small 76 pg  book could not be found in the bookstores in the US. Heck - at that time you couldn't find ANY books in the US questioning Bush's rationale for going to war. Americans who questioned were called "unpatriotic," "anti-military," "on the side of the terrorist".  But NOW, since Jan 2009, questioning the President, especially a "black" president, is encouraged and even called "patriotic". It's great to protest and question, but WHERE have all you Tea Partiers been the past 8 years? Together we could have PREVENTED the deaths of THOUSANDS of troops and the deaths of THOUSANDS of innocent, defenseless people caught in the cross fires of L-I-E-S.

The British are in the process of making public the lies their Prime Minister at the time, Tony Blair, told in the run up for and illegal war, WHY are Americans AFRAID to do the same? Are the British more brave than Americans? Are the British more inclined than Americans to want to PROTECT their country from lies and liars? Why are the British not AFRAID to face the TRUTH.. and Americans ARE afraid?

Tony Blair admits: I would have invaded Iraq anyway
