* George Bush's "values"?

This afternoon George W. Bush gave a speech at his presidential center at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He told how he has had "time to reflect in office over the past nine months".  Mr. Bush said "there were ups and downs, but through it all he "always did what I believed was in the best interests of our country." And, he told the crowd to raucous applause, "I came home to Texas with my values intact." (1)

"Values"? His "values" were feeling perfectly OK with leading his country into an illegal war that resulted in the killing of THOUSANDS of innocent, defenseless people whom had NOTHING to do with terrorism or with 9/11? His "values" led him to take his country into a  "pre-emptive" war resulting in KILLING THOUSANDS of young men and women in the military ? He sent these young people on a war built on OBVIOUS, fake, unproven, plagiarized, outdated so-called "evidence." He and those who supported these wars have blood on THEIR hands because of their ill advised, unholy "values."

Either George W. Bush was a puppet who depended on his handlers to run the country.. A puppet who was completely in the dark as President and STILL to this day is in the dark... Or he was/is  a liar who was well aware of the consequences of his very bad decisions and bad "values." It's either, or... period. He has no excuse and no right to try to justify his actions NOW. It's too late. We can't bring back the dead.

Perhaps he should spend more time "reflecting" and eventually come to the conclusion that the international community already knows.. that he needs to apologize to his country and the world. Better yet, he and the cronies in his Administration should be tried in the international court as war criminals.
