Aid to Israel in the President's State of the Union?


President Obama said the right things about bad budget priorities in his 2010 State of the Union address on Jan 2010. Will he apply this principle to military aid to Israel? Obviously NO. 


On February 1, President Obama requested $3 billion in military aid for Israel in his FY2011 budget request as part of a ten-year $30 billion Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Israel.  Congress now has to approve the President's budget request.

Write a letter to your Senators and Representative below telling them that you oppose $3 billion in military aid to Israel this year because of its human rights abuses of Palestinians and that you would rather see that money spent on domestic priorities in your state and Congressional district. 


End the occupation


During the Bush Administration (January 2001-January 2009),Israel killed at least 3,107 innocent Palestinian civilians, according to B'Tselem: The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories.

In most cases, Israel killed these Palestinian civilians with U.S. weapons provided to Israel at U.S.taxpayer expense.  Israel also used U.S. weapons to injure thousands more innocent Palestinian civilians, destroy billions of dollars of Palestinian civilian infrastructure, blockade the Gaza Strip, and build illegal settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem to enforce its illegal 42-year military occupation of the Palestinian West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip.

My thoughts: 
Why are the majority of tea partiers busy protesting spending, and opposing issues for the good of Americans, but were strangely SILENT when we spent TRILLIONS of dollars on a war built on OBVIOUS lies? SILENT when we spend TRILLIONS on more war TOYS and SILENT when we ILLEGALLY (The Arms Export Control Act P.L. 80- 829 and the SYMINGTON Amendment) send BILLIONS of our tax money to Israel?
